GET ALL THE DETAILS ON THE RELEASE OF SEASON 2 OF BECOMING ELIZABETH! DATE OF RELEASE!
Canal+ & Starz now carries Becoming Elizabeth! Continue reading to find out when Season 2 will be released! We saw Henry VIII buried, Catharine Parr dies soon after giving birth, and Thomas Seymour beheaded for his audacious attempt to kidnap young King Edward VI in the first season of Becoming Elizabeth. So someone important had to die in Becoming Elizabeth’s season one finale!
Elizabeth’s position at court changes in the Season 1 finale of Becoming Elizabeth, as Edward VI appears to be dying. While the king is on his deathbed, the court plots to install Elizabeth’s Catholic sister, Mary, on the throne or to depose her.
Elizabeth, as usual, tries to work around both sides, but it’s futile. At the end of the season, Edward has recovered and is shocked to learn how everyone conspired when he was about to die.
Edward Seymour follows his brother to the scaffold, while Mary and Elizabeth are cast out of the king’s favor. If you want to know how Season 1 ends, read this. Otherwise, we tell you everything you need to know about the upcoming Season 2 of Becoming Elizabeth!

WHEN WILL SEASON 2 OF BECOMING ELIZABETH BE RELEASED?
The first season came to an end on August 8, 2022. There have been no renewal announcements regarding the release of Becoming Elizabeth Season 2 as of yet.
First and foremost, this historical drama is not necessarily a limited series. The finale was not referred to as the series finale in the press releases, so we assume the door will be left open for what comes next.
Of course, there are no guarantees, and Starz as a network currently has a fairly full slate of shows. Also, Reiss admitted that the season one finale of Becoming Elizabeth was meant to be a “springboard for another season.”
Given the series’ positive reviews and popularity, as well as the factors mentioned above, we’re optimistic! In the event of a renewal, Season 2 of Becoming Elizabeth should be released at the end of 2023!
WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT NEXT?
Lady Jane Gray is pushed down the stairs in front of Mary and Elizabeth, implying that Edward’s sisters will be tried to push aside in favor of the seemingly malleable (and Protestant) maiden (spoilers, but this is exactly what happens in the story and it ends up being disastrous for young Jane).
Lady Jane Gray isn’t the only historical figure Reiss hopes to explore in upcoming seasons of the show and Season 2 of Becoming Elizabeth.
