A famous informant has just shared the technical sheet of the Galaxy S22 Ultra photo module. There will be 4 sensors, including the main one of 108 megapixels.
Early next year, Samsung will unveil its new series of premium smartphones: the Galaxy S22. According to the latest information, the launch should take place in February and not in January as for previous generations.
Indeed, the month of January would be reserved for the launch of the Galaxy S21 FE, which had many twists before the brand decided to market it.
Coming back to the Galaxy S22, the future trio is already talking about it a lot on the web. Informant FronTron shared several features of the three devices in August, giving us an idea of what smartphones will bring.
Today, the top-of-the-line model in the series, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, is becoming more precise.
No 200-megapixel sensor for the Galaxy S22 Ultra
Ice Universe, a well-known smartphone informant, posted a lot of information on Twitter this week about the photosensors that will be featured on the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
The first thing you notice is the lack of Samsung’s 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP1 lens. As Sam Mobile reports, the target will arrive on a smartphone in 2022, but the first one to take advantage of it will not be a Samsung device … nor the second for that matter.
According to the media, the first to benefit from the 200 Mpx Samsung sensor will be a Motorola, which will be launched in the first half of 2022. And the second smartphone will be a Xiaomi in the second half of 2022.
A main 108-megapixel sensor
Ice Universe announces that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 108-megapixel main sensor, just like its predecessor, the Galaxy S21 Ultra. This lens will also be an improved version of the HM3, with a 1 / 1.33-inch sensor and 0.8 µm pixels.
- The main sensor will be accompanied by three others:
- 12MP ultra wide-angle (120 °) (Sony lens)
Two sensors for the zoom (a zoom x10 and a zoom x3) also provided by Sony, of 10 Mpx (and not 12 Mpx as advanced rumors)
We would therefore be entitled to a photo configuration quite similar to that of the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra technical sheet
Here’s what we know about the Galaxy S22 Ultra. According to the most recent information, it has a 6.81-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh.
Inside you would find a 5,000 mAh battery and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor. Samsung would not launch a version with the Exynos 2200 in certain markets, as the company does with its Galaxy S21.
This information should of course be taken with a grain of salt because smartphones will only be official in a few months, in February 2022.
