WHAT FUTURE HOLDS FOR VICTORIA SMITH?
Chris Isaac’s second-degree murderer, Victoria Smith, received a life sentence in prison as well as a 25-year consecutive sentence for using a weapon while committing a felony. Due to his past mental health issues, his attorney had requested leniency; however, this was not taken into account when determining the sentence.
She allegedly shot Isaac eleven times in the head, telling police that she had been “just lying in bed” when she had been instructed to “kill him.”
Victoria Smith is currently doing her time in Missouri’s Chillicothe Correctional Facility. It appeared that Smith had to accept her fate amicably because she had admitted guilt to the charges.
Although Victoria Smith admitted to killing her husband, Betty Frizzell, Victoria Smith’s sister, doesn’t think Victoria Smith killed Isaac. She thinks that the person who shot Isaac was Smith’s son Kenny, who had recently moved in with the couple and been in altercations with Isaac.
One of the circumstantial pieces of evidence used by Frizzell to prove his sister’s innocence is the 911 call Kenny made days before the murder, in which he admitted to having suicidal and homicidal thoughts.
Victoria Smith had insisted that she had killed Isaac with a gun ever since the murder. She was very direct about her confession at the beginning of the I Am A Killer Season 3 premiere episode.
However, it seems Victoria Smith has changed her mind about going for it straight away in a follow-up interview that is shown at the end of the episode.
From a confession to uncertainty about what transpired that evening, his statement changed. Whether this uncertainty will affect the legal proceedings and whether the case will be reopened to examine the specifics of the murder are uncertain.
