Apple has not abandoned its line of affordable smartphones: the iPhone SE. After the first iteration in 2016, then in 2020, the apple-based firm is said to have planned to launch a new model as early as next year. According to a recent report by TrendForce, this iPhone SE 3 should arrive by the end of the first quarter of 2022, in March.
The launch date of the iPhone SE 3 becomes clear
Nicknamed iPhone SE 3, iPhone SE 2022 or even iPhone SE Plus, Apple’s next affordable smartphone has been in the spotlight for a few months. According to the latest news, the sources do not converge on the same design, some announcing a chassis almost similar to the 2020 iPhone SE and others announcing the design of the iPhone XR. However, everyone seems to agree on two points: the smartphone will be 5G compatible and will have an LCD panel.
However, the topic of the day concerns the date of arrival of the iPhone SE 3. According to the research firm TrendForce, the future affordable smartphone from Apple should arrive during the first quarter of 2022. More precisely, at the end of this trimester. We should therefore see it arrive during March. This is not surprising, given that it follows Apple’s strategy with previous generations. The iPhone SE was indeed announced in March 2016 and the iPhone SE 2020 in April.
TrendForce then comes back to some elements of the technical sheet of this new generation. He points out that the iPhone SE 2 would have the processor of the iPhone 13, the A15 Bionic. This would allow the smartphone to take advantage of the 5G network. In terms of the screen, this model would be entitled to a 4.7-inch LCD panel, the same size as the previous generation.
Finally, the firm comes to talk about the iPhone 14 by declaring that this generation would be entitled to four models with only two screen sizes. We should thus end up with an iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro with a 6.1-inch panel; as well as the iPhone 14 Max and the iPhone 14 Pro Max with a 6.7-inch panel. The Mini model would thus be abandoned.
