GET EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SATURDAY NIGHT ON NBC!
Is NBC’s Saturday Night Live debuting tonight? Is another installment of the late-night institution on the horizon?
We recognize that the last two weeks have been trying, owing largely to the absence of any new installment. Nonetheless, we’re going to get one in a matter of hours! Jerrod Carmichael will host, and this comes just one day after he came out publicly in his most recent comedy special. We’re sure he’ll bring it up again during tonight’s show, and it’s another opportunity to get to know the comedian a little bit better.
The promo video below features Jerrod and musical guest Gunna, and it’s all a play on Gunna’s name.
Here’s the other major question you’ll have to consider as you enter tonight: When is the show going to make a reference to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock? It’s inevitable; therefore, does the show begin with it in the cold open or save it for later in the evening? We’ve already speculated that Rock may have pre-recorded something, given his alum status and numerous cameo appearances over the years. He is also currently on the East Coast, but his schedule is somewhat limited due to his comedy show. He could not possibly appear live, as he already has an appearance scheduled for around the same time in Atlantic City. We believe he will return to the show at some point in the future if he is not on this weekend, but you may have to wait a little while.
What are you most looking forward to seeing on the upcoming Saturday Night Live episode?
Are you relieved that it will air tonight? Do you believe the Rock–Smith altercation will be mentioned? Make certain to share immediately in the comments! Once you’ve done so, remember to check back frequently — additional updates are on the way, and we don’t want you to miss them.
