A few months ago, the Netflix SVOD platform offered a certain group of users in certain countries the possibility of testing their new Play Something feature. And after months of testing, the latter is now available to all smartphone users running on Android. Evenings, where you spend hours looking for a series, are now abolished.
NETFLIX, SAVE ME THANKS TO YOUR PLAY SOMETHING
Only available for people with an Android smartphone, the Play Something feature and the best dressing yet for the lack of choice. At the same time, who hasn’t run out of ideas before Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney +, or Salto? Finally, thanks to Play Somethings – or Play Somethings in French – you will simply have to let yourself be guided at the whim of the Netflix algorithm.
Indeed, Netflix has said that this feature will not be available, at least for the first time for new subscribers. Play Something uses the Netflix algorithm. The latter will refer to content such as films, series, or documentaries that you watch on the platform but also to the My List section to propel random content onto your screen. This feature may at the same time offer you content that you have not yet finished so that you have forgotten to watch because of more or less popular series such as Casa de Papel or Lucifer.
Finally, if this feature means anything to you, that’s okay. Netflix has already integrated this functionality into its system, particularly on televisions or on the web version of the SVOD platform. The platform said that “on an Android phone, you can find ‘Play Something’ as an icon on your home screen and in the 17th row. New Netflix members see the “Play Something” icon after their first month.
