We hope everyone who was hoping for some great Max – Helen content in New Amsterdam season 4 episode 16 got their wish! Tonight’s episode featured karaoke, drunken antics, and Ryan Eggold’s character seriously considering marriage.
Max was just about to pop the question at the very end! It was just bad timing that got in the way. Would he have found the right time as soon as he and Helen returned? Perhaps, but he got inside his head. She also had a lot to drink. Sharpe was sound asleep by the time he finished rehearsing possible proposal patterns in the bathroom.
Then, at the end of the episode, there was another issue: Casey, Dr. Wilder, and others did not show up for work — and Helen appeared to have passed out on the floor the next morning. Something happened that night that isn’t entirely clear, and that will be the top priority shortly. As we’re learning, there’s never a dull moment at the hospital, and there’s always some sort of problem that they all have to deal with in some way.
Do we believe a Sharpwin engagement is still on the horizon? We certainly do, but it may take a little more patience to get there. We still have a ways to go this season, and as we prepare for the big moment, they have a lot to talk about as well. They are currently working and living in different countries, and while this is expected to change, there is no guarantee that it will happen immediately. Keep in mind that Max still wants to do everything he can to ensure that New Amsterdam is in good hands!
But for the time being, his top priority is to ensure Sharpe’s safety.
