The opening montage is narrated by Becky Butler. She has a normal, but miserable, life. She takes care of her abusive father and works long hours for the mayor of the town, who is also her boss and a flirt.
She cuts her hair, changes her name, and goes away to leave her sad life behind. Then, Poppy goes to see her idol, Cinda and tells her about Becky Butler’s podcast. In exchange, she asks Cinda for a job.
As Cinda’s assistant, Poppy was never given the credit she deserved and was treated badly. Poppy had a second idea, but Cinda didn’t like it either.
In the present, the three people on the podcast talk about Cinda and Detective Kreps’ evil plan. They figure out that the criminal couple worked together to frame the mayor for a murder he didn’t do, and now they’re trying to frame our cute trio for a murder they didn’t do.
Even though Oliver likes how brave they are, that doesn’t help them. The three of them decide that they need Cinda to confess, and the only way for that to happen is for her to make a mistake, which is where Poppy comes in.
