The documentary tells the story of John McAfee, a computer programmer whose name may be familiar to you because of McAfee’s antivirus software. But as you’ll see in the movie, McAfee’s life after selling his tech company was a lot crazier than that of an oddball millionaire in retirement.
Whether he is wanted for questioning about the murder of his neighbor in Belize or he says that the Mexican Cartel is trying to kill him. It’s also a nearly entirely filmed documentary, thanks to John McAfee’s obsession with filming himself. But what will happen to John McAfee now?
WHO IS JOHN MCAFEE?
John McAfee is a strange computer programmer and businessman who used to be famous for the antivirus software his company, McAfee Corp., made. But in 2012, McAfee became better known because he was on the run from police in Belize.
In November 2012, Belize police named McAfee as a person of interest in the murder of McAfee’s neighbor, Gregory Viant Faull. McAfee and Faull lived on the same large island in Belize.
McAfee did not answer the questions and ran away from the police, saying that the government of Belize was corrupt, that he wanted to die, and that he was afraid the police would kill him.
McAfee was finally sent back to the United States, where he was free to live for a few years. Then, in January 2019, he said he was living on a boat in international waters to get away from US authorities because he was wanted for tax evasion. He was arrested in Spain in October 2020 on US charges of not paying taxes, fraud, and insider trading.
WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO JOHN MCAFEE TODAY?
Then he was put in jail in Spain until he could be sent back to the United States. In John McAfee’s jail cell, he was found dead. The autopsy showed that he killed himself. You knew that John McAfee is no longer alive. Even so, his life was like a real Hollywood film.
John McAfee’s life was crazy, so it’s not surprising that he made some enemies along the way. And friends. He has a lot of friends who praise him. In the McAfee documentary From Viruses to Demons, he and the people around him are shown in a very direct and honest way. We only know what he wants us to know, though.
