If you’re a fan of Sex Education on Netflix, we’re sure you were shocked by the last season’s cliffhanger and are eagerly awaiting the next season to solve the mysteries. If you answered yes, we have some exciting news for you. Season 4 of Sex Education has been officially renewed, and it’s worth noting that the renewal was announced just weeks after Season 3 premiered.
Here’s everything we know about Sex Education Season 4 so far:
Release Date for Sex Education Season 4!
The season’s official release date has not yet been announced, but the first and second seasons of Sex Education both premiered in January. As a result, it would make sense for Sex Education Season 4 to debut in January 2023, at the very least.
Filming Updates for Sex Education Season 4!
It is well known that the pandemic and the subsequent factors have pushed back several shootings, and the same is true for Sex Education Season 4. According to Devdiscourse, filming for the new season will begin in April 2022 and will last until November 2022.
What can we expect from Season 4 of Sex Education?
*Warning: SPOILERS AHEAD*
A lot of cliffhangers were left at the end of the previous season’s final episode. Maeve was seen leaving for the United States to study, and Otis’ mother Jean suffered a postpartum hemorrhage after giving birth, but she is recovering. It means that anything is possible in the upcoming season, and we might even meet some new characters.
Maeve and Otis have finally admitted their feelings for each other, but now Maeve must leave for America, putting their relationship to the test. Eric and Adam also ended their relationship because of misunderstandings, self-doubt, and a desire to explore their self-identity. We’re looking forward to seeing Maeve and Otis’ time apart and how distance will put their love to the test. The students were shocked by the news of Moordale’s closure in the season finale, so we can expect to see them in different schools this year, or perhaps they’ll spend the last summer together? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Season 4 Cast of Sex Education!
We hope to see Asa Butterfield as Otis, Ncuti Gatwa as Eric, Aimee Lou Wood as Aimee, Connor Swindells as Adam, Kedar Williams-Stirling as Jackson, Patricia Allison as Ola, Tanya Reynolds as Lily, Mimi Keene as Ruby, Dua Saleh as Cal, Alistar Petrie as Mr. Groff, and Gillian Anderson as Jean Milburn returns in the upcoming season. Simone Ashley is also expected to return as Olivia, an Untouchables member, as long as there are no scheduling conflicts because she is now a leader in Bridgerton.
It has also been confirmed that the series is looking for two trans actors to play two trans characters in the next season’s upcoming episodes. “CASTING CALL for two new trans characters in SEX EDUCATION Season 4,” series writer Krishna Istha tweeted. Get on it, trans actors!!!”
