There is only one word to describe the wait for Ted Lasso season 3 premiere date information: long. Apple TV+ has made it clear that they are not in any rush to announce more information about the show’s future, nor do they need to be. Consider how much press they’ve already received during the Emmy campaign season!
We wondered for a while if the long wait for a launch date was due to the streaming service still figuring it out, or if they were waiting till the end of production.
But now we’re starting to consider something a little different: They’re just waiting for the sake of waiting. They realize at this point that there is almost something powerful in keeping everyone in suspense.
There would be no more oxygen to ask that question once we have a premiere date. Nobody will be wondering what it might look like once they release a trailer.
There may be trailer breakdowns and the like there is something to be said for not announcing a date until you are certain you can have a solid roll of promotion leading up to the premiere.
We’d prefer to have a date sooner rather than later, but it appears that we won’t be getting a date announced three months in advance this time.
Consider this: If we get a Ted Lasso season 3 premiere date now and it begins in three months, that means the show will begin in mid-November.
We’re not sure we can see it premiering later than that unless the early talk of a fall premiere was false.
After all, if you begin in late November or early December, you will be competing with holidays. This show could do that and be perfectly fine, but we’re not sure they’ll want to.
