SUMMARY OF THE HANDMAID’S TALE SEASON 5 EPISODE 2!
The second episode of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 begins with June unable to sleep. She walks to her car, pulls out her gun, and buries it in the backyard.
Meanwhile, Serena boards a flight to Gilead in preparation for Fred’s funeral. Mark is there to brief her and promises to be by her side throughout. “Like you were for Fred?” she cynically retorts. It’s a valid point, and Mark’s words have finally become hollow.
Still, there are more pressing matters to attend to right now, including Fred Waterford’s funeral. Lawrence and Nick are both present to greet her at the track, with the former deciding to accompany her to the hotel.
Serena, on the other hand, is more concerned with seeing Fred’s church chosen. It’s not a lavish affair, and it’s clear that Gilead simply wants to sweep the matter under the rug and move on.
