EXPLANATION OF EPISODE 1’S END
Justin takes refuge in his car at the end of the first episode and watches helplessly as Faraday vanishes into the dust storm. He then appears in a tranquil forest that looks like Earth but is a version of his home planet, Antheon.
A sinister man in a black hat appears in the forest as well, ominously announcing to the alien that he will be transformed into a god that people will be unable to ignore.
We are then transported to the present timeline, where Faraday reveals a small gray box to an audience while speaking. Declaring himself to be a man of secrets, he acts as if he is about to open the box.

The cliffhanger at the end of the first episode raises numerous questions about Faraday’s small box. From the few scenes at the conclusion, it appears as though it may contain the source of the mysterious power bestowed on Faraday by the Man in the Black Hat.
Thus far, all we know is that opening the box will produce a dramatic effect, transforming our otherworldly hero into a “god.”
According to the brief interaction between Faraday and the man in the black hat, the latter appears to be the one making the plans while Faraday is on the ground performing tasks.
The hat man’s motivations remain unknown, and while he appears to be human, his appearance is sinister. For the time being, it appears as though the man in the hat, like Faraday, is an alien disguised as a human.
