When The Orville: New Horizons moved to Hulu, it had the opportunity to do something different, and it’s safe to say that Seth MacFarlane and his team took full advantage of that opportunity in Season 3. Read this to find out when Season 4 will be released.
This season has seen some of the show’s best episodes to date, as well as a satisfying season finale with some pleasant surprises. The Season 3 finale of The Orville wasn’t quite as exciting as the previous episode, but there were a few other big moments and surprises. The end of Season 3 of The Orville is explained here!
EXPLAINED: THE END OF ORVILLE SEASON 3!
Klyden’s refusal to support their daughter Topa’s gender reassignment procedure earlier in Season 3 shattered the Moclan couple’s relationship. When Topa was kidnapped and tortured by fanatical Mo clan agents later in the season, Klyden vowed to be a better father and husband.
The renewal of her marriage to Bortus at the end of Season 3 cements their romantic reunion and brings The Orville Season 3’s other major storyline to a happy conclusion. Finally, Halston Sage returns to The Orville in the final episode to complete the circle, but there are still loose ends to tie up for a possible The Orville season 4.

The couple Ed and Kelly share a small moment of intimacy at the end of season 3 of The Orville when they hold hands during Gordon’s song in the final scene of the wedding night. This scene suggests that if the show is renewed, their relationship may be revisited in season 4 of The Orville.
The only story left unresolved in “Future Unknown” from Season 3 of The Orville is that of Ed’s half-human/half-Krill daughter, Anaya. Despite the increased risk to the child as a result of Teleya’s absence from Krill politics, she refuses to give Ed custody of her daughter.
With the Krill/Moclan alliance replacing the Kaylons as The Orville’s main antagonist, Ed and Teleya’s daughter’s story is likely to play a larger role in future seasons of The Orville.
At the end of Season 3 of The Orville, Isaac is fully accepted by his crewmates, who happily greet him as he walks through the ship’s halls and offers advice on his upcoming nuptials. Gordon even delivers an emotional best man speech, demonstrating how far his cynical view of Isaac has evolved since The Orville’s dark android story.
As the song fades and the camera pans past the ship, fans of The Orville can only hope that these new adventures will arrive soon. For the time being, they can only enjoy the passage of time until Hulu or Disney+ announces the series’ future.
