Doesn’t it make sense for your jaw to be on the floor now that we’ve made it through the Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power finale? We undoubtedly believe it for a variety of reasons.
However, let’s focus on that Halbrand revelation specifically for this article.
Since the character’s stature does match some of J.R.R. Tolkien’s descriptions, there have been rumors that he might be Sauron for a while.
Tolkien previously. The actual revelation in the episode is still shocking despite this, though.
The relationship between Halbrand and Galadriel is the kind of thing that will make the rest of the story even more tragic moving forward.
She’s been working so hard for so long to bring justice and peace back, only to find out that one of the main culprits behind the mayhem was nearby the entire time.
The hardest to accept right now is the fact Sauron 100% endures this series, at least in some form, because we know in the story is going on a larger scale.
His presence does, however, significantly increase the sense of stakes in this story. Although everything here is incredibly exciting, some new questions are also brought up. Think about the delay in this reveal, for instance.
Even though The Rings of Power has been fantastic over the past few weeks, some people have been critical of how slowly paced some of the revelations were near the end of the game.
We were made to wait a very long time to learn how Mordor was created or even how the title rings worked, and we do wonder if 1 or 2 of these things could have been introduced a little bit earlier in the narrative.
However, there’s no denying that this episode did provide us with several causes to be eager for a season 2.
