Thirteen Lives was shot in Australia and Thailand, specifically in Queensland, Australia. Colin Farrell’s movie began filming in March 2021 and finished in June of the same year. Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the production team was unable to move the entire biographical movie to a location in Thailand.
The majority of the footage for Thirteen Lives was shot in and around Queensland, an Australian state in the country’s northeast. The production team filmed several key scenes in the film at locations in the city of Gold Coast. She settled primarily in the town and suburb of Mudgeeraba, as well as the rural community of Numinbah Valley.
Several exterior shots for the biopic were also shot in Springbrook National Park, on Springbrook’s Old School Road, and in Canungra, a town and rural settlement in Queensland’s Scenic Rim region.
Furthermore, the cast and crew of Thirteen Lives reportedly used Village Roadshow Studios to the movie many of the cave scenes for the movie.
The studio has nine different-sized studios as well as three tanks, one of which was most likely used to film the underwater sequences in Ron Howard’s movie.
Thirteen Lives was also partially shot in Thailand. Because the movie is set in Thailand, it was only natural for the production team to do some location shooting there.
