There’s a lot to look forward to in When Calls the Heart season 9 episode 8 next week on Hallmark Channel! It’s the second installment of a two-part story, and many of the unanswered questions now revolve around Mei.
With that in mind, let’s get started with the following question: Is the character in fact being arrested? The promo we saw tonight made it abundantly clear that this is a distinct possibility. Her alleged husband has appeared, making these claims, and we also know that there is a certificate she allegedly signed in Chicago. Some people have done their best to assist her, but there is still a lack of clarity about what happened here.
As we progress through this episode, the first order of business will inevitably be to learn more about what really happened to Mei. Someone should get her to open up, and Nathan is the obvious choice. He is concerned about her! That has already been established, and Lucas has already encouraged him to sit down and talk to her about what happened.
No matter what happens on this show in the future, we still have a hard time believing that episode 8 will end with Mei in prison. She appears to be a good person who has just been through some traumatic events and is desperate to try to restart her life in a positive manner. We believe things will improve, but it may take some time. After all, When Calls the Heart is the type of show that is all about the long game. They don’t usually move things along in a series of episodes.
